Business Group Grants Program
To provide financial assistance to incorporated, not-for-profit business groups to develop programs, projects and initiatives that enhance businesses in the municipality.
Eligibility
- Be based in the City of Maroondah or have a substantial proportion of businesses within their group located in the municipality.

Have a commitment to working with their prospective members/membership businesses to improve the local economy.

Demonstrate that they have sufficient people/resources to undertake the project/program.

Be focused and committed to assisting local businesses to grow and remain sustainable.

Be a registered not-for-profit incorporated body (with an ABN number); or be auspiced by such a group (see section: ‘Filling in the application form’); or be committed to becoming incorporated and have this as one outcome of the project.
Assessment criteria
Applicants will only be permitted to receive funding for one project per annum and requests must not be retrospective.
Each application will be assessed on the extent to which the project or program meets one or more of the stated objectives of the Business Group Grants Program, namely:

Satisfies an identified need within the group.

Fosters local partnerships.

Enhances knowledge of local businesses.

Improves local business practices.

Improves future planning for the Group or Network.

Increases awareness of the Business Group or Centre within the local community or region.

Supports the development of additional networks or groups.
Timelines
Guidelines and applications are released in the first week of June, and close mid-July. Annual projects/initiatives should be completed by 1st May.
Accountability
Within one month of the event or finalisation of the project, successful applicants must provide a brief financial acquittal of funds including receipts relating to the grant and complete a brief pro-forma evaluation.
