Cities for Climate Protection Action Plan
Maroondah City Council is a member of the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) Cities for Climate ProtectionTM program. This program assists local governments and their communities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The Cities for Climate Protection Action Plan identifies actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from Council’s own emissions and assists the community in reducing their emissions. The Action Plan sets a target of reducing Council’s own emissions and community emissions by 20% on 1995 levels by 2010.
