Croydon Parklands Future Directions Plan

The purpose of the Croydon Parklands Future Directions plan is to provide direction for future park improvements, which aim to balance, recreational, environmental, cultural and social values within a 10 year timeframe.

The process included consultation with nearby residents, stakeholders, sporting groups and other special interest groups, as well as a landscape review and analysis of physical site conditions. A desktop review of past Council Strategies and Plans was also undertaken to identify wider strategic objectives relevant to this project and the site.

The Plan was adopted by Council in September 2007. The Plan's recommendations are now being implemented in line with the identified priorities and funding availability. Croydon Park, Town Park and Eastfield Park

Croydon Parklands is an area of open space located between Eastfield Road and Hewish Road, Croydon, and is made up of Croydon Park, Town Park and Eastfield Park. The Parklands serve as both a large informal recreation and sports precinct with remnant bushland for the City of Maroondah.

Eastfield Park consists of a trotting track, biological significant bushland, a wetland, Melbourne Water sedimentation basin and the Tarralla Creek, which runs through it.

Town Park and Croydon Park act as Maroondah City’s sporting hub. Collectively, they consist of three football ovals, numerous playgrounds, walking and bicycle trails, picnic and barbecue facilities, skate park, leisure centre, athletics track, gridiron field, tennis courts, public toilets and numerous sports club facilities.
